Radical women; embracing tradition
In this TED talk, Kavita Ramadas discussed the issue of women's rights and their equality among men. All over the world, women have suffered these equal rights and even still today. Woman are sometimes somewhat thought of as slaves because in some countries, it is tradition to give woman a job and that be the only thing they need to accomplish. In these countries, woman are sent off to marry at the early age of twelve, as Kavita Ramadas said in the talk, and taken on the womanly responsibilities of cleaning, being a mother. etc. Today, women have earned their rights and have a place in this world but men are thought of as the dominant gender and have always obtained the rights that women did not have before. It is interesting to hear of other cultures and women who have to go through such times because Americans today do not understand what they had to go through. I am very fortunate to be living in this place and time today because life was very different for women living in Afghanistan when women did not have rights.
