In this TedTalk Kavita Ramdas discusses gender equality, and how women are not treated fairly or equal to men. Gender discrimination is a big issue in many country's, even in America today women still are not treated equally. Women are actually still getting paid less than men for doing the same job. Women are always being judged on the way they look and if they show too much skin or wear a lot of make up they may be called sluts or something like that. Sometimes women are raped and they are told that it was their own fault because of the way they were dressed. In Persepolis, while Marjane is in college in Iran they tell the girls that they need to start wearing longer veils and looser pants so that they aren't revealing so much, although you already couldn't see anything at all. When she was running for the bus they made her stop because her butt was moving in an obscene way. I think that women should be able to wear and do whatever they want without men telling them not to for reasons that are just dumb.
