Inquiry Project: Media and Body Image

I am doing my Inquiry project on the negative influences media has on society relating to idealized body image and the idea of perfection. Throughout my research, I realize how many different things affect society in different ways. There are many commercials to promote skin care, beauty products, weight loss techniques, etc. to show society that there is always room for improvement in your body image. Everyone has their own definition of beauty, but the media has a pretty standard definition and believes that everyone should oblige to this. It has become extremely common for the people in our society to feel uncomfortable with their bodies because media says you have to look a certain way to feel beautiful and accepted. I chose to do this topic because I feel like most people have been affected by the media or can relate to it.
