Inquiry Project Follow up
For my inquiry research project I am talking about Pop art. I find pop art to e one ting types of art, the best way to show society what it really is. What I've found thus far into my research is a lot on the history of the art, the reasons behind why it was done, and what it generally consist of. I intend on going into way more depth on the history alone but I want to find more information on the artists of the time, such as Andy Warhol and others, to explain how they portrayed society and its good and bad. In my research, I found that some artist from this time, made album covers for some of the most popular bands of the 60's, such as the Beatles. The art was a movement for society, not just for art. It definitely changed the art scene in so many ways, taking what everyone knew of the contemporary fine arts and completely twisting into whatever you see in the world. Artist would take popular everyday advertisements and make them into something out of the ordinary, but still recognizable to the public. Andy Warhol's many Campbell Soups pieces show this very well, where he keeps the look of the product the same but changes it the label from Campbell's Soup to Campbell's Juice.

ReplyDeleteI think this is a unique and interesting topic. Possibly you could look into more contemporary forms of pop art and street art such as Banksy or Shepard Fairey.
