Group 4 Source: Kentucky Outlook

The emotional strength exhibited by Bryan Anderson, a triple amputee war veteran, was mind blowing.  Just as Marjane Satrapi was surprised by her friend Kia's acceptance and outlook on his situation, I was astonished to see that kind of raw optimism myself. Although Kia may not be as extreme in his lifestyle as Anderson is, his attitude is just as inspiration to me as Anderson's story is.  Both Kia and Anderson's use of humor to essentially keep their sanity in tact (and by extension keep them alive) was sobering.
