Art In Exile

In the ted talk "Art In Exile" Shirin Neshat talks about politics in Iran. It seems that people in Iran don't have very much freedom at all, especially the women. It's sad to think that there are countries where you can get tortured or even killed for breaking a law that may not even be that bad. There are people like Shirin Neshat who have to live in exile just because of their art, they can't return to their country. In the video she says that the government is threatened by art, this is probably because their art would bring up issues that influence citizens to stand up to the government, but the government needs to have control over their citizens.
