Art in exile

Before watching this ted talk and reading Persepolis, I never really understood the issues of the middle east. I love that Shirin Neshat brings her views of being an outsider and transforming art to express her views. I also love the inside view of the lives of females and their part in the Iran history. She has peeked my interest on what life is like for them and feel more educated about Iran. I honestly never knew they had democracy. When i used to think about Iran i really didn't think much other than it was a area that allways seemed to be fighting. Now I know why there was fighting. The fighting is to bring back their history to the point were the government is fair and just.
