Group 5 Source: Kavita Ramdas
In this day and age, women, not men, are redefining what it is to be a 'woman'. In this TedTalk, speaker Kavita Ramdas, describes what it was like growing up in traditional India. She speaks about how women, are changing tradition in their religion and culture. She mentions about women in Afghanistan, have opened underground schools to educate refugees. It is extremely inspirational to me to hear about women, willing to sacrifice their lives to make this world a better place. She goes to talk about a woman's lesbian folk group in Croatia, that despite much opposition, has gathered large music loving and supporting crowds. Then she goes on to describe the woman's peace movement in Liberia and how just one scared mother, could cause such a stir. I loved how not only does she use great examples of how women are changing the world, but she teaches us how to be a part of this movement.
