Kavita Ramdas

In Kavita Ramdas's Ted Talk she speaks about Women and how important they are to society and how they are saving us. She explains how gender equality is always a problem in Traditional cultures, how women are always oppressed. It amazes me when Kavita speaks of all the women she met in the organization that was founded by women. Those women literally sacrifice their lives for what they believe in, for "overturning centuries of oppressive tradition" as Kavita mentiond in the video. She also explains how these women cherish and respect their religion but just want to be equal to men. Here in the U.S there isn't a big issue on gender equality, I mean it's still an issue but not as big as it is on the Middle Eastern. Those women in India, Afghanistan, Pakistan,and etc. are struggling to gain gender equlaity.
