Kentucky Outlook

This video of Brian Anderson's story really relates to Marjane's friend, Kia. They both lost limbs from war and have pretty much the same outlook on their lives and the situation. In the video, Anderson said that they best way to get though everything was to make fun of everything and laugh it off. In Kia's situation, he doesn't focus on the bad aspects about his situation. When Marjane visits him, she is shocked to see him in his condition and even says to herself that she wouldn't dare look him anywhere but in the eyes. Once he tells her a joke and breaks the ice of awkwardness, they talk and laugh throughout the visit and have a great time. With Kia still having his sense of humor, he is able to get through his situation.
