The name of this article is Overt Censorship: A Fatal Mistake? The article gives two examples were censorship in social media by a country's government has taken place. The first example was in Germany were the German goverment asked twitter to block a noe-Nazi page, making it unavailable to all German residents. The second example was in China were they blocked access to a New York Times article that invested assets accumilated by the prime minister of China. In both cases the governments of each country blocked information in order to prevent anti-government ideas. This is much like V For Vendetta were the government also censored all information pertaining to anti-government actions and ideas. Reading this article has given me a better understanding of why a government would bann certain ideas that could negativily influence citizens of that nations. Although I don't agree with these actions I understand from a governmental stand point, that it is easier to govern and police a nation when they control what the public is able to see and not see.
