Comedy is Translation
I found that Chris Bliss had a very interesting way of looking at comedy. It never occurred to me to look at laughter from a scientific standpoint. As Bliss puts it, when we laugh our body releases endorphins making us feel good causing us to lowering our guard around strangers. I think he made a good argument for his point and supported it through his presentation. I especially liked his statistics on the John Stewart's show and how it showed that people retained more information about news everyday than people who watch normal news channels. However he did not tell us where he got this information from so I would be curious to see how true these statistics are and who conducted the tests. But I did enjoy the presentation and will try to add more laughter to a conversation when trying to make a point.
